2021 Recap: Challenges Mixed with Small Victories and Shared Fun

As the curtains fall on 2021, we, at Motion Software, pause to think about the year that has gone by and reflect on lessons learned, ideas that flourished and things we achieved. It was definitely chaotic for many due to the pandemic, even ruthless in a way. This year also taught us valuable lessons. It was another step towards our mission to revolutionize the IT labour market worldwide.

Here’s a little recap.

Motion Software’s new look

In February 2020, we initiated a major redesign of our website.

We’ve come a long way in terms of vision, progress, and building long-lasting client relationships. We are proud to share some of these highlights with this new website.

Besides, it visually demonstrates what we stand for, the work-life balance we praise, as well as the most outstanding features of our remote work management platform in a succinct way – which we believe is crucial to bringing in even more digital specialists into the Motion Software community.

According to Alexandra Krasteva, UX/UI Designer, “Thanks to the flexible work policy Motion Software provides me with, I am able to maintain a positive work-life balance – doing my dream job while having the freedom to travel, as well as spend more time on my self-growth and development in order to become the best version of myself. I am extremely grateful to be part of this community. A community that encourages me to do what I am really passionate about. It makes me feel appreciated and exactly where I belong.”

Much like Alexandra, Hristo Vatev – Senior Account Manager, highly values flexibility at work: “I have plenty of time for my hobbies. For example, I can work out when it works best for me. This actually has a positive effect on the quality of my work.”

Adding more talent hubs to our map

The team of local experts has been working tirelessly in the past 12 months to establish our own legal entities without involving third parties or outsourcing services.

Extremely proud that there are two more talent hubs on the Motion Software map – Ukraine and Turkey. We stick to each country’s unique labour laws and regulations, focusing on every little detail. This way, we make sure our clients stay fully compliant while creating long-lasting partnerships across the world.

Ioana Stoyanova, our Chief Commercial Officer, shared: “Finding the right business partner can be like finding a needle in a haystack. Looking back at 2021, I definitely would like to praise our hard teamwork. It led to quite a number of newly established, valuable partnerships for the company.”

The Bootcamp initiative

Not to brag about, but the 3-month Motion Software Bootcamp has been a successful initiative since 2019 when we entered a strategic partnership with SoftUni – the largest IT educational hub in Bulgaria.

We initiated it with the aim of helping talented young professionals gain the required set of skills to pursue a career in coding, marketing, or design.

Our trainers have solid real-life experience within the industry. They are eager to share their knowledge and insights through lectures, exercises and by fostering teamwork and collaboration.

Vidol Vidolov – one of our Junior JavaScript Developers, has started his journey from the Bootcamp: “My biggest achievement for 2021, was, without a doubt, allowing myself to get out of my comfort zone, continuously learning a lot of new things and putting them into reality without being afraid of the big wall in front of me. I was just a rookie with only basic knowledge of programming. I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to make a living out of programming. It was my attendance at Motion Software’s Bootcamp that turned the tables.”

The ongoing program started on September 15, 2021, and will end in the middle of January 2022.

Shared fun is double fun

Regardless of the pandemic, Motion Software made the best out of a bad situation in terms of team buildings and retreats, conferences and other team bonding experiences.

When asked George Krastev, Data Scientist and Machine Learning Engineer, what were his favourite activities within our community in 2021, he said: “It would have to be the spring team building in Plovdiv. The whole experience overall was fantastic. The tours, the parties, the airsoft games – it’s hard to choose a single moment from the whole event”.

Desislava Popova, Accounts and Internal Control Specialist, pointed out another team event: “Before attending the summer team building on the seaside, I only knew people by their names from processing their monthly timesheets. It was in Primorsko that I actually managed to meet the people! Thanks to the excellent organisation of our community manager, we all had a wonderful weekend!”

This year was full of ups and downs, but we matured as individuals, community, and organisation as well. What’s for sure – look forward to continuing our efforts enabling tech companies to seamlessly hire top remote digital specialists from Central and Eastern Europe.

Note: There are loads of job opportunities, and we’re impatient to hear from digital specialists with similar to our mindset: http://motion-software.com/open-positions
