Highlights of Motion Software Bootcamp 2021 (Spring Edition)

Here at Motion Software we believe it’s our mission to take part in the rise of the next generation of digital specialists. That’s why we are constantly in search of new talent. It’s also the reason why we organize regular bootcamps in collaboration with SoftUni – one of the leading educational instituations in CEE. Bootcamp 2021 (Spring Edition) is an essential part of our company’s focus on finding, training and nurturing aspiring digital professionals.

Motion Software Bootcamp 2021

This year, for the first time ever, Motion Software’s bootcamp was expanded to 3 different categories – software engineering, UX/UI and digital marketing. After undergoing a pre-selection the 19 chosen candidates embarked on a 2 month-long journey of intense challenges. They had to quickly learn how to put theory into practice. Teams were formed from participants in the 3 different categories. They all had to work towards the development of a newsletter application from the inception to the completion. This concept allowed us to create a real-life scenario of finding your own place and value when becoming part of a new team.

And now we’ve got the chance to talk to 3 of the brightest participants at Bootcamp 2021 (Spring Edition) to find out what they thought of their experience.

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your experience at the Bootcamp.

I was very excited to find out that I will be part of the Bootcamp because I was very impressed by the introduction speech and the values of the company. I am happy that during the Bootcamp I met very motivated and talented people and that we had the great opportunity to work in a team on a real project. For me, the Bootcamp was the ”missing part” between the education and the start of the career.

2.What do you think was most beneficial for you in this particular format?

What I found very beneficial in the format was:
– the daily meetings with Ivaylo (my mentor);
– the opportunity to work on a real project
– the cooperation with the design team
– the opportunity to self-manage and make decisions within our development team.

3.What was the most challenging part of the Bootcamp for you?

For me, it was most challenging when we all had different opinions about part of the code we were working on. We had to find a way to all think as one and find the best solution. Eventually, after a series of discussions, we would always manage to reach an agreement and work as a team.

4. You are already part of Motion Software. What professional direction do you see yourself going in in the future?

I am proud to be part of the company. In the short term, I want to expand my knowledge and experience with MERN Stack. In the long-term, I would like to focus my efforts on soft skills development, so that I can be able to provide added value to the company by leading projects.

Ivan Nikolov – Marketing

1.Tell us a little bit about yourself and your experience at the Bootcamp.

Hello there! My name is Ivan – 23, currently living in Burgas. I was part of the marketing team at Motion Software Bootcamp 2021. I found out about this opportunity from SoftUni and immediately decided that I should be part of it. And I’m so happy I did. This adventure taught me a lot about the work and role of a marketer in a startup company. And because the Bootcamp is fully remote, this whole pandemic situation didn’t affect our work process and project.

2.What do you think was most beneficial for you in this particular format?

The format was short, fast-paced, and challenging – exactly what I like. Two digital marketers and three designers had to become a team within a day. Along the way, we learned how to follow the Scrum methodology. It was a challenge at first, but we had a lot of fun in the process. At the end of the Bootcamp, I felt like I have upgraded my leadership and teamwork skills.

3.What was the most challenging part of the Bootcamp for you?

The most challenging part for me was probably the timing and duration of team calls. We had daily scrum sessions that lasted for more than an hour (they had to be 20 minutes max). The challenge was that five total strangers had to present like a well-oiled machine. It took us many hours to brainstorm and get along as a team, but I think that we crushed it in the final week.

4.What professional direction do you see yourself going in after this experience?

There is only one answer to this question for me – Growth hacker. That decision was greatly inspired and influenced by our mentor (Victor Stankov). During the practical weekly tasks at the Bootcamp, I explored different areas of digital marketing. It was my thing. I believe that I have that growth hacking mindset and the work ethic to become a growth marketing beast.

Alexander Sinigerov – UX/UI Designer

1.Tell us a little bit about yourself and your experience at the Bootcamp.

As a designer, I am working in different roles in the digital and printing industry. I am curious and always ready to learn something new. I was involved in a design team to create something new. I expected to hear interesting points of view, exchange ideas, and have fun, of course.

2.What do you think was most beneficial for you in this particular format?

Most valuable in this format for me, was the ability to learn from experienced leads. And also, to be part of work processes and stages to create a Web App product from scratch.

3.What was the most challenging part of the Bootcamp for you?

The most difficult part for me was to ask the right questions when trying to understand how the app will work. This helps in creating better user flows.

4.What professional direction do you see yourself going in after this experience?

I want to be involved in more digital projects and products.
