LockTrip is a blockchain-based travel marketplace that allows users to save up to 60% on bookings by cutting out intermediaries. Founded back in 2017, the company now has an extensive network of over 2 million hotels and properties available.
“Our partnership with Motion Software was crucial to the early development of our blockchain protocol. Their team demonstrated the highest level of professionalism and flexibility. I strongly recommend working with them.”
— Nikola Alexandrov, CEO of LockTrip
The centralised booking of tourist accommodation services (through middlemen) involves high costs, stretching between 15% and 50%, where end customers and suppliers are the ones who always pick up the check. Being familiar with this scenario, the client came to Motion Software with a great idea, comprehensive market research, and even a team in place to build their platform. However, they lacked the technical expertise in blockchain technology in order to build their own blockchain on which their platform to lean on for crypto-based transactions. The blockchain would have to support smart contracts and provide a high level of security, scalability and efficiency.
Motion Software provided a distributed team of 2 blockchain developers and an architect. Respecting all client’s requirements and maintaining cost-effectiveness, our team designed and implemented the entire solution, using Qtum blockchain as a base that was modified with a set of LockTrip unique features.
Moreover, the team built all the satellite tools, such as wallets and explorers, and put the flows in place for the further support and maintenance of the test and main networks.
Once the initial stage of the R&D was over, Motion Software assisted LockTrip in recruiting and onboarding permanent employees who took on the project.
LockTrip’s blockchain is live, and the client has a stable R&D team that continues the further maintenance and development.
